Commentary

v1-3: Bildad is right, see 23.13-16, in speaking of dominion and awe, but he makes no reference to God's mercy.

v4-6: See Eliphaz' words in 4.17-18; 15.14-16. These words may indeed be true, but they are inappropriate in the context. Job's friends, even to the end, continue to assume that his suffering is a direct result of his sins.

This is their final verdict; they have nothing left to say; Bildad's third speech is hardly ¼ of his previous statements, and Zophar remains silent.
