Bible Notes Online - Job 24 - ESV
Commentary

v1: Even those who know God are kept from knowing everything.

v2-12: The observation that injustice is widespread. In each example here, the injustice is caused by people. These words, as in 21.71-15, match our own observation. In this life, those who perpetrate injustice do not always suffer for it.

Our confidence is that, in eternity, God's justice will prevail.

v13-17: Men prefer darkness rather than light because their deeds are evil, John 3.19-20; Rom 13.12-13; 1 Thess 5.4-8. Men rebel against the light, being ignorant of God. Darkness brings the opportunity for doing wrong in secret; any light from God brings fear of exposure.

v18-24: God is not ignorant of those who do wrong. Job speaks of judgment upon them.

v25: Job's challenge, 'Who will prove me a liar?'
