Bible Notes Online - Leviticus 7 - ESV
Commentary

v7-10: The fact that the offerings included portions for the priests was important, as they had no other source of income.

v11-15: The fellowship offering was a sacrifice of thanksgiving. In ch 3, the offering was of the inner parts of the animal. Thus, in our personal lives, we must be full of thankfulness to God.

v19-21: Cleanness was important; the Israelite had to be careful of all manner of situations by which he could become unclean. In some cases, the person could be "cut off from his people", such was the seriousness of the issue. In particular here, men must not eat what belongs to God (v20,25); in the N.T., Ananias and Sapphira took what they said belonged to God, and claimed it for themselves; they suffered the consequences (Acts 5).

v22-27: Further, a person could not eat either fat or blood.

v28-36: The details of the priests' share of the offerings are summarised.

v37-38: Summarising this section on the various offerings (ch1-7); the instructions regarding the offering were given by God, just as other commandments were. These chapters repeatedly say; 'The Lord said to Moses.'
